Water Safety Instructor Course (WSI)

	Description	The American Red Cross of Central Virginia is proud to offer Water Safety Instructor classes to our community and is also supported by local facilities that are authorized to provide Red Cross courses. (40 hours)
	Certification	Nationally recognized Red Cross WSI Certification, valid for two years and renewed by teaching classes

Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification

**NEW** Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor Certification

University of Virginia Aquatics Facility	UVA Aquatics	(434) 924-3791
	Description	A comprehensive course (24 hours) that certifies instructors to teach American Red Cross Lifeguarding courses. This includes an overview of all materials as well as practice teaching sessions. Upon successful completion of the course, individuals are certified to provide training in American Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer courses.
	Prerequisites	Completion of the Fundamentals of Instructor Training (FIT); Preliminary Challenge (resulting in certification in Lifeguarding/First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer). Must by at least 17 years old by completion date of course.
	Certification	Valid for two years and renewable every two years thereafter.
	Price	$350 (includes all instructor books). Please note that Fundamentals of Instructor Training (an additional $25) is a prerequisite.
